Compress images with Imagify before offloading to cloud storage
Imagify automatically compresses images using Smart Compression and converts them to WebP and AVIF. WP Media Cloud then offloads the optimised files to your cloud storage provider. Free plan available. Unlimited plan from $9.99/month.
Smart Compression. WebP and AVIF. Async bulk optimisation. One setting.
Imagify is built around a single Smart Compression mode that automatically applies the right amount of compression to each image without you needing to choose between quality levels. Compression happens on Imagify's cloud servers, not yours.
Smart Compression
Imagify's Smart Compression algorithm automatically analyses each image and applies the maximum compression possible without visible quality loss. You do not need to pick a compression level. Imagify decides the right balance between file size and visual quality for each image individually.
WebP and AVIF conversion
Imagify converts images to WebP automatically and offers AVIF conversion as an option. The plugin serves the modern format to supporting browsers and falls back gracefully for those that do not. Both formats are available on all paid plans.
Async bulk optimisation
Imagify's bulk optimiser runs asynchronously in the background. You do not need to keep a browser tab open while it processes your existing media library. Because compression happens on Imagify's servers, bulk optimising a large library does not place load on your hosting server.
Automatic optimisation on upload
When you upload an image to WordPress, Imagify automatically optimises all image sizes WordPress generates, from thumbnails to the largest registered format. No manual step is needed. New uploads are compressed and converted as soon as they arrive in the media library.
Original image backup
Imagify keeps the original unoptimised file on your server as a backup. If you are not happy with the compression result, you can restore the original with one click. This is a safety net, though be aware that storing both the original and optimised versions doubles the disk space used per image.
Made by the WP Rocket team
Imagify is developed by WP Media, the same team behind WP Rocket and Rank Math. It integrates naturally with WP Rocket's caching and performance stack. For sites already running WP Rocket, Imagify is a natural companion plugin from the same development team.
20 MB free per month. Unlimited from $9.99.
Imagify's Starter plan is free with no credit card required. It gives you 20 MB of image optimisation per month, which is approximately 200 images depending on file size. This is enough to test the plugin and see results on a low-traffic site, but a single high-resolution photo can be 4 to 5 MB, so the free tier runs out quickly on active sites.
The Growth plan at $5.99/month (or $4.99/month billed annually) provides 500 MB per month, covering approximately 5,000 images, with unlimited websites and unlimited upload size per image. Additional bandwidth costs $5 per GB if you exceed the allowance. The Infinite plan at $11.99/month (or $9.99/month billed annually) removes all limits entirely with no overage charges. All paid plans allow upgrading, downgrading, or cancelling at any time.

Plans at a glance
Three plans. Free to unlimited. Billed by Imagify separately.
Imagify is priced based on monthly image data volume. The Starter plan is free with 20 MB per month and no credit card required, but the 2 MB per image limit and 20 MB monthly ceiling mean it is best treated as a trial rather than a long-term free tier. A single photo library upload can exhaust the monthly quota quickly.
The Growth plan at $5.99/month (or $4.99/month billed annually) covers 500 MB per month with unlimited upload size, suitable for small to medium sites. The Infinite plan at $11.99/month (or $9.99/month billed annually) has no data limits and no overage charges, making it the practical choice for agencies or sites with large or frequently updated media libraries. All plans include unlimited websites.

Both plugins activate independently on the same WordPress site. They solve different problems and work alongside each other without conflict.
Install both plugins
Install WP Media Cloud and configure it with your storage provider. Install Imagify from WordPress.org and connect it to your Imagify account. Both plugins operate independently and require no shared configuration.
Imagify compresses on upload
When an image is uploaded to WordPress, Imagify sends it to the Imagify cloud API. Smart Compression analyses the image and returns a compressed version, along with WebP and optionally AVIF variants, before WP Media Cloud processes the file.
WP Media Cloud offloads the compressed file
WP Media Cloud offloads the already-compressed image to your cloud storage provider. The file that lands in your storage bucket has already been processed by Imagify, so you get both the file size savings from compression and the hosting savings from offloading.
Visitors receive compressed, offloaded files
Media URLs on your WordPress site point at your storage bucket or CDN. Visitors receive compressed, format-optimised files served from cloud infrastructure rather than your origin server, reducing load on your host and improving delivery speed.
