Frequently asked questions
Answers to the most common questions about WP Media Cloud.
Does WP Media Cloud work with any WordPress theme or page builder?
Yes. WP Media Cloud rewrites attachment URLs at the WordPress media library level, so it works with any theme, any page builder, and any plugin that reads images through the WordPress media library. It has been tested specifically with Bricks Builder, Elementor, Divi, Breakdance, Beaver Builder, Oxygen Builder, WPBakery, and Etch.
Will my existing media library images be moved to cloud storage automatically?
No. New uploads are offloaded automatically from the moment WP Media Cloud is configured. For your existing media library, run the bulk migration tool in the plugin settings. It runs in the background with no item limits and handles libraries of any size.
Can I use WP Media Cloud with Bunny Edge Storage?
Yes. WP Media Cloud has native Bunny Edge Storage integration using Bunny's own API, not an S3 compatibility layer. You can configure your storage zone, set a CDN pull zone URL for delivery, and enable WooCommerce secure downloads via Bunny token authentication.
Does WP Media Cloud delete my local files after offloading?
Only if you enable the local file removal option in the plugin settings. By default, WP Media Cloud offloads files to cloud storage and keeps the local copies on your server. Enabling removal frees up disk space. You can re-download files from cloud storage at any time.
Does WP Media Cloud work with WooCommerce downloadable products?
Yes. WP Media Cloud offloads WooCommerce product images, gallery images, and category images. For downloadable files, signed URL support is available on Bunny Edge Storage (token authentication) and Cloudflare R2 (SigV4), which generates secure time-limited download links without exposing direct bucket URLs.
I migrated from WP Offload Media or Media Cloud by ILAB. Do my files need to be re-uploaded?
No. Your files are already in your cloud storage bucket. WP Media Cloud connects to the same bucket and runs an import to update your WordPress attachment metadata. No files are moved, duplicated, or re-uploaded. The migration is a configuration change and a database operation only.
How does licensing work?
WP Media Cloud uses SureCart for licence management. After purchase you receive a licence key which you enter in the plugin settings to activate it. Licence limits are per site, not per media item. Annual plans cover a fixed number of sites. The Lifetime plan covers up to 1,000 sites with a one-time payment and no renewal.
What is the URL Replace tool?
The URL Replace tool is a beta feature that scans your post content and postmeta for existing media URLs and rewrites them to match your configured cloud storage URL structure. It is useful when migrating from another offload plugin or when your storage configuration has changed. We recommend running it on a staging site first.
Is there a limit on how many files I can offload?
No. WP Media Cloud has no item limits on any plan. You can offload 100 files or 100,000 files and the plugin behaves the same. Pricing is based on the number of WordPress sites, not the number of media items.
Does WP Media Cloud work with WPML, Polylang, or TranslatePress?
Yes. WordPress uses a single shared media library across all language versions when using multilingual plugins. WP Media Cloud offloads files at the media library level, so all language versions of a page automatically receive cloud storage URLs for their images. No per-language configuration is needed in either plugin.
